Rapid Psychological Health and Safety Gap Analysis

How prepared is your organization to facilitate a psychologically-safe workplace?

Use this rapid assessment is to evaluate your organization’s psychological safety practices. Organizations interested in creating a psychologically-safe workplace and adopting the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (the Standard) must conduct a gap analysis to measure the degree of conformity and adherence with respect to their current and desired states. This audit is meant to be user-friendly and informative to assist in decision making and action planning.

A fast and efficient way to get a stronger reading on your current psychological safety programming is to have your wellness committee or your joint workplace health and safety committee complete this assessment independently. Follow up the assessments by having a meeting to share results to confirm strengths and identify areas for improvement.


  • This gap analysis has 21 items. It’s estimated it will take you less than 10 minutes to complete.
  • Review each of the statements and indicate your organization’s current adherence based on the facts you know to be true.
  • This audit will measure seven factors. Upon completion you will get a score for each factor and an overall score.
  • Print off or save your results as a PDF.
